Felicitaciones to this week’s Author Spotlight, Marc Gandarillas, for a superb article, “El papel de la subjetivación en los procesos de gramaticalización”!

This piece provides critical insight into subjectification, a process of language change. Gandarillas carries out an extensive literature review, emphasizing publications from the last two decades, addressing controversial discussions and definitions of subjectification, as well as its significance in explaining cases of grammaticalization.

Marc is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies at the University of Florida studying sociolinguistics, bilingualism, language contact, language policy, endangered languages, historical linguistics.
